PROBLEMS HOSTING w/ Action 2007?

TRY THIS!

1. What you need to do is go here to assign a static IP to your computer (follow instructions, they are very detailed):

2. Then, after setting a static IP address for your computer, go to:
   
   http://www.portforw ard.com/routers. htm
   




3. Pick out your router from that page.  Your router model number will be printed on your router somewhere, usually on the bottom of it.  After you find your router from that list, click on the Action PC 2006 link. 
   
   You can follow the directions just the same from 2006 to 2007, the only thing that has changed are the ports you open.  In the new software, you ONLY have to open port 32019, as opposed to the old software where you had to open 4 (I think).  Its more secure that way.  You will be forwarding the port you open to the static IP you set above (an example of a static IP is usually something like 192.168.1.136)
   




4. After that, you can go to www.myipaddress. com and that is the address you will be sending people to hook up to your game.
   
   I know it sounds like quite a bit, but its not as bad as it seems.  The directions on the webpages I gave you are usually very detailed.
   
   This should be valid for anyone else having trouble hosting, as well.
