747(r) M41-42 1942 (Germany, WW2)
Throughout
the conflict, the Germans incorporated captured enemy tanks into their
armored units. On the Eastern Front, captured Russian tanks largely
replaced the colossal losses suffered by the Wehrmacht. The T-34 of all
versions was part of these captured tanks or "beutepanzers."
The
Panzer 747(r) is a beutepanzer, a T34 captured by the Germans and modified
for their use. The base is a 1941-1942 T34 with a cast turret.
