Sports Attic - Trade Review Board
(AHBL, & BBBL)
TRADE REVIEW BOARD REQUIREMENTS:
1) Will be made up of the members listed below. I would use a combination of 4
different members to review trades per transaction reviewed...trying to keep a voting member from
voting on a trade that is in HIS particular league (as much as possible). This would be done
to eliminate any bias that may exist by having an owner from the same league voting on a trade.
2) Would need to give the time and effort to review any trades brought before the
board. Would need knowledge of current player stats and future potential of
players (prospects).
3) Would need to be dedicated; making fair judgments and offering opinions on why
trades were rejected OR how the trade could be made better for approval. If a review board
votes down a trade, they WILL BE REQUIRED to offer an explanation as to why.
HOW IT WORKS:
1) Trades will be made as normal. TRADING PARTIES note:
Add/enter their thoughts on the deal in the COMMENT sections that are supplied on the trade page. (EX: maybe you want owners to know that you are building for the future, etc). Basically, this will be your view point as to why you made the deal.
FUTURE DRAFT picks are NOT a consideration.
All leagues do not accept future draft picks in trading (per rules...EXCEPTION: if both parties pay their league dues in advance, for the next season, future draft picks CAN be considered).
The trading of future draft picks are never to be allowed, under any
circumstances, be they informal or not. They will not be tracked nor
considered in the approval of trades.
2)When a trade is made in an individual league, I will send it out to the ENTIRE league. League members have 24 hrs. to reply.
a) 10 or more league members
protest- TRADE DENIED (automatically)
b) 4-9 league members protest- send to review
board where 3 out of 4 contacted people must say no. If a trade review
member does not respond, then another member will be asked and the
non-repsonding board member will be put on
notice.
3) Review Board has 24 hours to research the deal and reply YES-APPROVE or
NO-REJECT to the deal (I would also REQUIRE feedback on a NO response).
FINAL COMMENTS:
I think this would give better due process to handling trades, plus, keep it objective by
having 4 owners from the different leagues making decisions on a trade. It would delay
accepting of trades by a minimum of 1 day and a max. of 2....but in my opinion, this is a short period of time and would give us a
consistent ruling body.
